This is the Note 10 5G for Verizon, how much do you think it will cost?
Early in July, we heard that the Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ 5G version will be launching later in the year as a Verizon exclusive handset. The smartphone was supposed to include an “enhanced 5G modem” for connectivity tailored to Big Red’s mmWave 5G network.
Last week, an alleged Verizon promo page about said handset leaked out, and it indeed said “Get it first at Verizon,” flaunting the back of the phone, and a bit of the front. We are still a week away from the Note 10’s announcement but it seems that Verizon exclusivity keeps getting confirmed, as another tangible clue appeared in the form of an FCC test entry that listed the SM-N976V model number with Verizon’s 5G Ultra Wideband n260 (39GHz) and n261 (28GHz) frequencies.
As if to further solidify the exclusivity rumor, the device itself now leaked in a full frontal press image, courtesy of Android Headlines, complete with Verizon’s UWB 5G network mark in the status bar. Long story short, the Note 10 would indeed have a dedicated 5G model, as Qualcomm’s modem still can’t be integrated in the Snapdragon chipset itself, and it could very well be exclusive for Verizon indeed, with a launch date depicted as August 23 on the home screen here.
As for the differences with the regular Note 10+ model, they are the extra modem with 5G bands support, the firmware version that includes software for managing said modem, and, of course, the price that is yet to be confirmed.
As you can see below, Verizon will sweeten the deal enough for you, throwing in the small, non-5G Note 10 for free. That one is likely to cost anywhere in the $899+ ballpark, so that’s not a small chunk of change to give away, so we shudder to think what the retail Note 10+ 5G price would be. Our bet is on a higher price than the S10 5G, what do you think?
