Well, this took a lot longer than I’d hoped, but the eBook version of the Windows 11 Field Guide is now available for purchase if you’re so inclined.

You can find the book at Leanpub. As with its predecessor, the Windows 10 Field Guide, which is available for free with your Windows 11 Field Guide purchase, the new eBook is priced at $9.99 and can be downloaded in PDF, ePUB, and MOBI formats. The eBook is aligned with the web version made available to Thurrott Premium members here on Thurrott.com and currently includes 40 chapters and is over 375 pages long in PDF form. Both versions of the book are incomplete but I’m working on it regularly and updating both every week. The final book will be somewhere between 500 and 1000 pages long. (The Windows 10 Field Guide is just over 500 pages long; this will be a longer book.)

There are of course some differences between the web and eBook versions of the Windows 11 Field Guide. The eBook includes some introductory and (light) reference material (that I will be adding to the web version too). It has cross-reference links throughout, which would be impossible/prohibitively difficult to add to the web version. There are more image size possibilities in the eBook, and there are more callout/sidebar types (for things like tips, keyboard shortcuts, notes, warnings, and so on). Also, you can see some spacers for coming sections like Help and Recovery, Hardware, Accounts, Security, and more, and more will appear over time as I add content out of order with the table of contents (TOC).

Current and future Thurrott Premium members will receive tokens to receive a free copy of the Windows 11 Field Guide eBook sometime in the coming month. We’re just working out the best way to distribute those. This is not a temporary offer: the eBook is a permanent benefit of your Thurrott Premium membership.

Looking to the future, I still need a cover image and I’m hoping Martin McClean will return, but that’s on me. I’m nervous about promoting what I expect to write, but I have plans for over 10 more sections, most of which will include several chapters each. I will keep the eBook and web versions of the book up-to-date with the changes Microsoft makes to Windows 11 going forward (via so-called Moments and app updates). And I will support each with updates for at least two years or until a presumed Windows 12 appears.
