Acer last night announced new Nitro and Swift laptops based on the latest AMD Ryzen 7000 series processors. The Acer Nitro 16 and 17 are aimed at casual gamers while the Swift Go 14 is a thin and light design.

“The new AMD Ryzen mobile processors deliver power-optimized performance along with a plethora of enhanced user experiences,” Acer notes of the underlying platform in each of these laptops. “Leveraging its new Zen 4 core architecture which is designed for high performance and efficiency, gamers and mobile workers are treated with accelerated performance for outstanding productivity and power efficiency. In addition, select models feature AMD’s Ryzen+AI technology, for magical video effects like eye gaze correction.”

The Nitro 16 and Nitro 17 gaming laptops are powered by AMD Ryzen 7000 Series processors and up to an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 40 Series GPU. Display options include a 16-inch WUXGA/WQXGA panel at 165Hz, a 17.3-inch Full HD panel at 144Hz or 165Hz, or a Quad HD panel at 165Hz, and each has liquid metal thermal grease on the processor. Each also features a 4-zone RGB backlit keyboard.

The Acer Swift Go 14 offers a lightweight design, AMD Ryzen 7000 Series processors, up to 2 TB PCIe Gen 4 SSD storage, up to 16 GB LPDDR5 RAM, and a 14-inch 2.8K (2880 x 1800) OLED display panel with a 90 Hz frame rate, a 16:10 aspect ratio, and super-thin bezels with a 90 percent screen-to-body ratio. Available ports include USB Type-C, HDMI 2.1, and a MicroSD card reader, and battery life is rated at 9.5 hours.

The Acer Nitro 16 and 17 will be available in North America in May, with prices starting at $1,149.99 and $1,199.99, respectively. And the Acer Swift Go 14 will be available in North America in June, starting at $849.99.
