Samsung Launches Galaxy Self-Repair Program

Posted August 2, 2022 | Android | Galaxy S20 | Galaxy S21 | Galaxy Tab | Mobile | Samsung | Samsung Galaxy | Windows

Samsung announced that its new self-repair program for Galaxy devices is now available in the U.S. thanks to a partnership with iFixit. To start, Galaxy S20, S21, and Tab S7+ are covered by the program.

“Samsung Self-Repair is another way for customers to prolong the life of their devices, before they are recycled,” Samsung vice president Mark Williams said of the program.

Samsung customers who wish to repair their own eligible devices can now purchase genuine device parts and repair tools through iFixit, Samsung 837, and Samsung retail and service locations, and at the same pricing offered to Samsung’s affiliated repair providers. The firm is also providing the same online repair guides at no cost, and free shipping labels so the old parts can be safely recycled.

That said, the parts are limited to displays, back glass, and charging ports for now. But Samsung says that it will expand its self-repair offerings to include more devices and more parts in the future.
