Windows 10 version 22H2, the latest version of the OS that Microsoft released last month has entered its final rollout phase. On its Windows Health dashboard, Microsoft announced that the update was now ready for broad deployment, which means that it’s being offered to an expanded set of eligible PCs.

For Windows 10 PCs running the version 20H2 of the OS or newer, Windows 10 version 22H2 should appear as an optional update in Windows Update. The installation should be pretty quick as this update will install just like a monthly Patch Tuesday update.

Microsoft previously said that Windows 10 version 22H2 would bring “a scoped set of new features”, but the company never shared any more details about what’s actually new in this update. This is probably a first in the history of Windows 10, but Microsoft is now much more focused on Windows 11 anyway.

Windows 10 is now getting “major” releases once a year, and these updates now get 18 months of support for Home and Pro users. If your PC isn’t eligible for Windows 11, or if you’re really not a fan of the redesigned Start Menu with no Live Tiles, you’ll be fine for 3 more years as Windows 10 will be supported until 2025.

According to the latest data from Statcounter, Windows 11 is currently running on about 15.45% of all Windows PCs, up from 8.91% in April. Windows 10 remained at 71.26% this month, and the OS will likely remain the most popular version of Windows for a couple of years.
