Lenovo unveiled today its next-gen ThinkPad X1 Fold at IFA 2022 today. The ThinkPad X1 Fold was the world’s first foldable PC, and this year’s model bumps the screen size from 13.3-inch to a more comfortable 16.3-inch OLED display.

“Through a combination of customer feedback and end-user insights, the innovative design features a 22% larger 16-inch folding OLED display, 25% thinner chassis, and thinner bezels all around to produce a premium, streamlined look and feel that extends to the aluminum frame and a back cover made from 100% recycled woven performance fabric,” Lenovo explained

Just like the Zenbook 17 Fold OLED PC Asus announced yesterday, the ThinkPad X1 Fold can be enjoyed in different modes. You can use it in landscape mode with a stand, in laptop mode with a sub- 13-inch laptop screen, or in book mode when holding the device horizontally.

The ThinkPad X1 Fold can be configured with up to 12th Gen Intel Core i7 processors, Intel Iris Xe Graphics,  up to 32GB LPDDR5 RAM, and up to 1TB of SSD storage. It also comes with 3 USB Type C ports (2 Thunderbolt 4 ports, 1 USB 3.2 Gen 2 port) three Dolby Atmos speakers, and twin dual microphone arrays.

The next-Gen ThinkPad X1 Fold will be available in the US from Q4 starting at $2,499. Lenovo will also be selling a full-size backlit ThinkPad keyboard with a built-in TrackPoint and touchpad separately.
