Lenovo Announces New PCs, Chromebooks, and Smart Home Devices

Lenovo today announced several new consumer PCs, an “extreme” version of its ThinkPad X1 Carbon, three new Chromebooks, and several new smart home devices.

Yep, it’s IFA week. And Lenovo, like other PC makers, is busy disclosing its holiday 2018 lineup. Here’s what the firm just announced.

Yoga C930

Yoga C930. Lenovo’s flagship consumer PC is a 2-in-1 laptop with a new Rotating Sound Bar with Dolby Atmos support, Dolby Vision, and a Pen that charges when stored in its “garage” compartment. This PC will ship in October and start at $1399.

Yoga Book C930

Yoga Book C930. The latest version of this oddball Windows 10 laptop provides a dual display, one of which utilizes E-ink and can turn into “a dynamic, customizable keyboard with multi-language support, digital paper for notes or sketching, and even an e-reader.” This PC will ship in October and start at $999.

Yoga C630 WOS

Yoga C630 WOS (Windows On Snapdragon). This thin and light laptop is the first to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 850. It’s hobbled by Windows 10 S but provides the type of always-connected mobility that smartphone users have come to expect. The C630 WOS ships in November and starts at $849.

Yoga S730. As the first premium clamshell laptop in the Yoga family, the S730 weighs just over 2 pounds and is 11 mm thin. It comes in an aluminum chassis and provides up to 10 hours of battery life. The S730 ships in November and starts at $999.

Yoga Chromebook

Yoga Chromebook. The first Yoga with Chrome OS is a premium 2-in-1 Chromebook. It provides an up-to-4K, near-edgeless, touchscreen 15-inch display wrapped in an all-aluminum body. The Yoga Chromebook arrives in October and will cost $599 and up.

Lenovo Chromebook C330 and Chromebook S330. These two new Chromebooks feature different form factors. The Chromebook C330 is an ultraportable 2-in-1 with an 11-inch multitouch IPS display that weighs just 2.6 pounds. The Chromebook S330 is a clamshell laptop with an up to a 14-inch Full HD IPS display. Both Chromebooks will debut in October. The C330 will start at $279, and the S330 will start at $249.

ThinkPad X1 Extreme

ThinkPad X1 Extreme

ThinkPad X1 Extreme. The first ThinkPad X1 with a 15-inch display and discrete graphics, X1 Extreme provides the latest 8th generation Intel Core processors, and a 4K HDR display with Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos, and 100 percent Adobe RGB. The ThinkPad X1 Extreme is now available and starts at $1859.

Lenovo Smart Home Essentials. Lenovo has announced a new family of connected devices under its Smart Home Essentials brand. These devices are compatible with Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa, and they can use the Lenovo Smart Display as a control hub. Lenovo Smart Essentials includes the Lenovo Smart Plug, Lenovo Smart Camera, and Lenovo Smart Bulb. The Smart Plug and Smart Bulb both start at $29 and are available in November. The Smart Camera will cost $99 and ship in early 2019.

Wars Jedi Challenges Dark Side Content Expansion and Limited Edition Kylo Ren Lightsaber. Finally, Lenovo has announced a free new expansion for its Star Wars: Jedi Challenges solution that lets gamers play through new challenges as Kylo Ren. – dueling Yoda, Rey and more in AR. It will also ship a limited-edition $99 Lightsaber controller modeled after Kylo Ren’s weapon from the Star Wars films.
