Intel is planning to leverage its upcoming Arc family of GPUs to create Project Endgame, a new streaming service set to launch later this year. The chipmaker teased the new offering in a press release detailing the company’s product roadmap for 2022, and details are currently pretty scarce.

“Project Endgame will enable users to access Intel Arc GPUs through a service for an always-accessible, low-latency computing experience,” the announcement reads. It’s not clear yet if Project Endgame will have a gaming focus and try to compete with established cloud gaming platforms such as NVIDIA’s GeForce Now.

When Intel first introduced its new Arc brand last year, the company said that it would “cover hardware, software and services.” The company is already collaborating with Ubisoft, Kojima Productions, and many other studios that will optimize their games for Intel’s Arc GPUs.

In the meantime, though, Intel still has a lot to prove as a GPU manufacturer. The first wave of Intel Arc GPUs, code-named Alchemist, will start shipping on notebooks in the first quarter of 2022. Arc GPUs for desktops and workstations are expected to follow in Q2 2022 and Q3 2022, respectively. “Architecture work has begun on Celestial, a product that will address the ultra-enthusiast segment,” Intel also announced today.

Intel expects to ship “more than 4 million” of its upcoming Arc GPUs in 2022. Asus, Alienware, Dell, HP, Lenovo, and Samsung will be among the first PCs manufacturers to ship new devices with Intel’s Arc GPUs this year.
