Here Comes Build 2018

Posted May 7, 2018 | Dev | Paul | Windows

Microsoft is hosting its Build 2018 developer conference this week in Seattle. And of course, Thurrott.com is in town.

It’s going to be a busy couple of days. Indeed, Brad, Rafael, and I already had a busy couple of days: We recorded what I believe will be one of our most iconic videos yet over the weekend. But here’s what you can look forward to in the short term.

Build keynotes

Microsoft is providing lengthy keynote addresses on both Monday (at least three hours) and Tuesday (two hours), and you can watch both of them live here. Each keynote begins at 8:30 am PT/11:30 am ET.

Monday’s keynote focuses on the cloud, while Tuesday’s focuses on Microsoft 365, meaning Office 365, Windows 10, and Enterprise Mobility + Security. So from the perspective of Thurrott.com and our readers, Tuesday is the far more interesting of the two. That said, you can expect some big news stories and commentaries today, too. And we’ll cover all of the relevant new information as needed.

Windows Weekly

Mary Jo Foley and I are recording Windows Weekly live from Build again, but because of the logistics of the show, we don’t have a stage or open venue for others to join us, sorry. But if you want to watch it live online, you can do so at twit.tv/live today (Monday) at 3:00 pm PT/5:00 ET (not our normal day/time).

Meet-up

Mary Jo and I are also hosting a meet-up on Tuesday evening, and everyone is invited. It’s being held at the Pine Box Bar on Capitol Hill from 6:00 to 8:00 PT. See you there!
