Channel 9 is Moving to Microsoft Learn

Posted November 5, 2021 | Channel 9 | Dev | Windows

As part of its messaging about post-Ignite learning opportunities, Microsoft revealed that it is moving Channel 9 into Microsoft Learn.

“Later this month, the thousands of hours of current technical knowledge historically found on Channel 9 will be migrated to Microsoft Learn, alongside existing popular documentation and skilling content,” a Microsoft representative told me. “This shift is part of Microsoft’s mission to help everyone achieve more; making Microsoft Learn the one-stop destination for skilling content will allow the company to continue to upskill and foster camaraderie for developers and IT pros, all on one centralized platform, for free.”

In a related blog post, Microsoft corporate vice president Jeff Sandquist notes that Microsoft Learn is committed to delivering deep content across a variety of media. And that Channel 9’s content—“made by developers for developers”—will continue forward under the Microsoft Learn umbrella. This includes popular shows like Azure Fridays, Ask the Expert, Hello World, and many more.

Mr. Sandquist also notes that Microsoft Learn TV will broadcast the Visual Studio 2022 launch at VS 2022 on November 8 and the .NET 6 launch at .NET Conf 2022 on November 9.
